Many power trowels have been in service for 15, 20, 25, or even 35 years. Blade arms, spider plates, and mounting hardware may have been changed. Always compare your existing blade size, mounting style, and bolt-hole spacing before ordering.

How to Choose the Right Replacement Blade

  1. Start with machine size. Identify the power trowel diameter.
  2. Match the blade type. Finish, combination, float shoe, stone holder, and specialty blades have different applications.
  3. Measure the existing blade. Check blade length, width, mounting bar, and bolt spacing.
  4. Confirm the bolt pattern. Count the mounting holes and measure their center-to-center spacing.
  5. Check the Kraft product specifications. Compare the blade dimensions and mounting pattern before ordering.

Understanding Power Trowel Blade Mounting Patterns

Bar Mount Blades

Bar mount power trowel blades attach to the trowel arms through mounting holes in the blade bar. Depending on the machine, the blade may use a 2-bolt, 3-bolt, or 4-bolt configuration. Confirm the exact center-to-center hole spacing.

Channel Mount Blades

Channel mount blades use a formed mounting channel rather than the standard flat bar mounting arrangement. Master and other specialty machines may require channel or offset-channel blades.

Metric Blade Patterns

Some power trowels use metric blades with different mounting dimensions. Metric blades should not be selected solely by their approximate inch measurements.

Power Trowel Blade Fitment Questions

Do different power trowel brands use the same blades?

Yes. Many power trowel manufacturers use common blade dimensions and mounting patterns. However, not every model within the same brand uses identical blades.

What is the difference between finish, combination, and float blades?

Finish blades are used for final concrete surface finishing. Combination blades are designed for floating and finishing. Float shoes are used during earlier concrete finishing operations.

Can I order replacement blades using only my machine diameter?

No. Machine diameter alone does not determine fitment. Blade length, width, mounting style, bolt-hole count, and bolt-hole spacing must also match.

Can walk-behind and ride-on power trowels use the same blades?

Some walk-behind and ride-on machines share blade patterns. Check the OEM blade part number and the replacement blade mounting dimensions before ordering.

Before You Order

Always compare the replacement blade with the blade currently installed on your machine. Measure the old blade, count the mounting holes, check center-to-center bolt spacing, and verify the mounting bar or channel configuration.

If the original blade dimensions, mounting pattern, or clip style do not match the replacement blade specifications, the blade may not fit even if the machine manufacturer is listed.
